Sample dinner menu

Below is a sample of a typical dinner menu as served in the New Wilmington's restaurant.

We also serve Sunday roast on selected dates every month. Please see our Sunday lunch page for dates and our sample Sunday menu.

Starters

- Homemade country vegetable soup with crispy golden croutons
- Grilled flat field mushroom topped with melted Goat’s cheese
- Fan of honeydew melon with Parma ham
- Homemade salmon fishcakes with sweet chutney
- Scottish smoked salmon served with chopped onion, lemon pigtail and capers

Main courses

- Roast saddle of Sussex lamb filled with spinach, apricots & rosemary, with a Port wine gravy
- Pan-fried breast of chicken wrapped in bacon with a rich tomato Provençal-style sauce
- Steamed fillets of lemon sole on a bed of roasted julienne of peppers
- Courgette, leek and pasta bake bound in a cheese sauce and topped with golden breadcrumbs (vegetarian)
- Grilled English Sirloin steak served with chips, flat field mushroom and grilled tomato
- Slow braised lamb shank cooked in a Port, redcurrant and vegetable gravy
- Roast half of Aylesbury duck complemented with a honey and oyster mushroom sauce
- Cold Buffet - Meats of the day, cheese or egg served with crisp seasonal salad, coleslaw and potato salad.

All our main courses are served with crispy roast potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables. New potatoes are available on request.
