The New Wilmington, located in the West end of the town near the main theatres and seafront, is a perfect base for exploring the sights and attractions of the Eastbourne area.

Eastbourne has plenty to offer tourists all year round. Listed below are some of the highlights.

The Seafront – Eastbourne is a flat resort, ideal for those looking for a relaxing walk/cycle along the seafront promenade. Guests can also enjoy the Victorian pier and the beautiful flower gardens.

The Bandstand –
Eastbourne’s bandstand has a full programme of concerts, mostly in Spring and Summer. Tribute nights, firework nights, big band evenings and military evenings are all part of the programme.

Theatres
– There is year-round entertainment at Eastbourne’s theatres. The two main theatres – the Congress and the Devonshire Park - are just around the corner from the hotel.

The Towner art gallery –
A contemporary art gallery that opened in 2009. The gallery is literally a minute’s walk from the hotel.

Sovereign Harbour
– To the east of the town centre Sovereign Harbour includes the Waterfront development with restaurants and shops.

South Downs National Park
– Ideal for walkers and ramblers.

Shopping – In and around the Arndale Centre, you will find major stores such as Boots, BHS, Marks and Spencer and WHSmith. Eastbourne also has many independent shops, including some just along the road from the hotel, such as Breeze Flowers and Cooden Cellars.

A little further away...

Drusillas - Drusillas Park is widely regarded as the best small zoo in Europe. Enjoy a fun finding-out day out that includes Thomas the Tank engine and brilliant play areas.

Paradise Park
- Just along the coast in Newhaven, Paradise Park comprises a garden centre, heritage trail and gardens.

Bluebell Railway - A charming heritage railway line that runs on the border between East and West Sussex, the volunteer-run Bluebell Railway is a wonderful tourist attraction.

Herstmonceux Castle - A moated, 15th Century Tudor castle in Herstmonceux. The castle has walled gardens and woodland trails for visitors to enjoy.
